The program aims to produce personnel in statistics who possess both theoretical knowledge and practical competence in applied statistics, operations research, and data science. Graduates will be able to apply modern technologies in professional practice and research across various fields such as social sciences, humanities, physical sciences, biological sciences, industry, business, and transportation, while upholding professional ethics and moral responsibility.

Importance

In contemporary Thai society, the use of information has become increasingly essential, with a rapid growth in its application across various sectors. Statistical methods help ensure that the information used is accurate and reliable, enabling effective planning and management in both public and private organizations. Therefore, statistical techniques and modern technologies serve as important tools for efficiently screening and processing information to enhance its credibility. However, the effective application of statistical methods together with advanced technologies requires personnel to possess a solid understanding of both statistical principles and modern technological tools. Recognizing this importance, the Department of Statistics has emphasized the development of an applied statistics curriculum aimed at equipping personnel with the expertise needed to utilize statistical methods and technology to their fullest potential, thereby contributing to national development in the future.
